Just 2 quick questions. Does a stock 87 sami without a tach have a gas light that comes on when low on gas? And when I got my sami the headliner was tore out. the guy was about to replace it. So my question is, was there a dome light that would come on when the door opens?

dont know for sure, but i doubt it. is there a switch in your driver side door jamb? that would tell yo. there may have been a light, but probably not one that turned on with an open door. soft tops dont have one for the door.

I have an 87 soft top and there is a switch in the door jam. My light has a three position switch located on the overhead support. On tintops the light is located between the roll bar and the rear side window, on the side of the top itself. I can't answer the question about having a low fuel light.

Yeah I got the 3 position light by the rear window. I just wasn't sure if it should go on when the door is open, or if mine is just broke or if there is another one that was on the roof. But thanks. Anyone know anything about the gas? I guess I can just run it till one comes on or it dies.

My 88 Sami tin top has a light on the top of the left door post beside your head. I'm the original owner and the light has never worked when I opened the door. I have always had to turn on the switch.
