well i can weld really good so i thought i would cut the back off and just leave the front fenders off it too and build from their as for the suspension im not sure yet im going over a couple of ideas in mind but not sure any advise?

Leaves are quick and easier, and short term they work great.  Just plan on building a traction bar sooner then later.  :)

I just spent about around 300n parts for my rear end for a 4 link in just metal, bungs and Johnny Joints.  Not including shocks, springs, spring cups, etc.  Expect to double that to build a 4 link and 3 link properly, your better off sticking with stock springs or some out of a junkyard Jeep.  :)

I would go with some stock height YJ's, if you going to remove the fenders or do anything like that you can fit a large tire and keep it somewhat low.  I wouldn't jack the thing up into the sky, then put a huge tire, keep it was low as possible.  If your going to go with yota axles you will defiantly going to want to beef up the front axles, possibly with some longfeilds.

well im not going to go over 4 inches of lift but ive been working on an idea at home and it shows great promise so let me tune it in more and then i will tell you what i got  and im going to stiffen up both axles a bit

I run 33" tires with around 5" of lift, and the only reason they fit is the cut up fenders.  The BFG's just fit under the front end when I first bulit the rig, but I had to hammer the back of the fender well back.

With 36" tires and only 4" of lift you will have to slide the front axle forward about 4" and remove the fenders.  For the rear you are going to need to cut out your fenderwell, and it wouldn't hurt to slide the axle back 2" or so as well.  Far enough back to clear the front of the fender, but not so far back you have to move the gas tank.  You should be able to get away with just using some Driveline spacers from Spidertrax, otherwise expect to hit a custom drive line shop.

I'm just tossing ideas at this point to avoid having to do work.  :D

If your doing any wheel wheel base change with lift on your samurai, i would defiantly expect to have at least a rear drive line made.  Im not sure if this is going to be a trail rig or a trail rig/door slammer.
That all depends on how home made you can get with your drive lines....all trail...square drive lines ;)

ya im going to take the front fenders off and i was going to cut the whole back part of the body off it so i should have plenty of clearence and i planed on building new drive lines cause i was planning to move the front axle to the farthest point i could and the same with the back axle

YJ Springs are easy and soft and proven to work.

Coils are cool and somewhat complicated, but they get rid of that problem of hitting your springs on approach.

It's all a matter of how much you want to fabricate vs spend vs both at this point.  :D

off of an 87 yota and i got both styles i got yj springs in the back yard and i got 14 inch trail coils i could do alot of fab and make my own 4link i just want to know the pros and cons of both i dont know much about susuki im a chev man i got a 79 stepside 4x4 with a turbo400 and an ls1  im building and almost done

79 to 85 are the Toyota mini truck years that came with a solid front axle...84 to 85 being the more desirable ones to get due to a longer lower truss. For a rear axle you should try and get an 86+ because they are 3in wider than a pre 85.  You would have to add 1.5" wheel spacers to the front to match the rear ends width.

If you have all the goodies that will work you could always spring the rear end up with YJs then Coil the front, that would give you quite a good amount of travel.  It would save you a little more cash too.

Do you have any pics of the build? I mostly want to see the isuzu mine truck motor and t case. My dad used to have a diesel shop in the early 80s(before I existed) and he had a 2 cylinder isuzu diesel generator for a radio tower that was left over.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)
