By a stabilizer bar do you mean a Steering Stabilizer or do you mean a Sway Bar?

It sounds like you have an 8" lift.  I would recommend switching to a High Steer setup, that should take care of most of your bump steering issues.

No, I wouldn't recommend a body lift.  I'm not a big fan of them myself.

You should have plenty of lift the way you are.  Unless you are planning on running 35-38" tires there shouldn't be any need to go higher.  The Sway Bar might help with body roll around corners but usually doesn't help to much with the bump steer problem.

I just put a steering stabilizer back on my SJ after running for years without one.  The new tires are a bit out of balance when most of the air is let out of them, I'm hoping this fixes that issue.

How big of a tire are you running or trying to run?
It doesn't sound like you need a body lift at all.

if we are talking about a samauari, you will need to "clearance" the wheel wells a little. some people cut and fab, some use BFH, both cases work. what helps also(and i have no idea what lift your running) is to try to move the front axel forward a couple inches. the YJ spring kit does this. i have also seen people redrill the pilot hole on the spring pad. both will dramaticly reduce tire rub. or just but tires from americas and get the warranty
good luck

If you have 3" lift springs and a spring over you have enough room for 33's, 34's, possibly 35's depending on how aggressive of tires you want to go.
