Project Turbo Sidekick, a step by step chronology of the buildup of my
89 Kick at 250,000 Miles.

As you can imagine at 250K I needed to rebuild the engine, so while
it was apart, I added a few things.

I started with the standard rebuild stuff, new rings bearings and seals,
then started planning the transformation.

Before the oil pan went back on, we needed a return line for the oil
returning from the turbo. For this I used a 1/2" barbed brass fitting
and drilled a hole in the side of the pan right below the engine mount
on the left side. This should be about 1" below the lip of the pan, and
between the pan mount bolts.

Install the fitting with washers on both sides, sealed with copper silicone.
On the inside of the pan grind the threaded part of the fitting as flush as
you can for clearance. now install the oil pan to the engine.

*Note the pan can be removed without pulling the engine,
 by dropping the front axle.

Very Cool!  I can tig you a stainless header if you continue to have problems!

What are you doing for fuel enrichment.  I saw you bumped fuel pressure, but how are you regulating it?  FMU?

Did you tie the down pipe into the factory exhaust?

The idea came to me, the hilbourne way is to reduce or
increase the size of the "pill" the bigger it is the less
fuel the injectors flow, so I invented my own pill, a
inline flow regulator with a guage to monitor the
fuel PSI, yes it is quite crude, but the high tech
way fizzled when I couldnt get the injector modified
to flow 100 PPH.

And yes I tied into the stock exhaust right before the Cat,
I've also had a bigger pipe put on the back of the Cat, so
the only stock part is the Cat itself.

I had a downpipe made at a shop, and the cat back part
was done a few years ago for more flow and a bigger quiet
muffler.

I just ordered the MegaSquirt EFI system, and will be putting
together a FI system to handle all the boost the turbo has to
offer, about 8 PSI, I can only use 4 Max now as the fuel is not
sufficient, yet...

Well I didn't get any suggestions so I
stole a Suzuki S logo from somebody.
did some mods to it and added it to the
site along with a pic of the Intercooler
with description.
