Will this work? -> Adapt from 5x5.5 to 5x4.5
« on: April 17, 2007, 07:41:06 AM »
Seems to be more wheel choices with 5x4.5 lug spacing... has anyone successfully used wheel adapters to achieve this?  The concern I have is whether the adapter centers will fit around the hubs.  Any first-hand experience doing this would be very much appreciated.

Almost all decent offroad wheels are available with 5.5 circles..

Remember the same wheels fit ALL CJ Jeeps, from 1949 up to when they stopped making CJ's.

Not to mention Scouts, Ford trucks, Dodge trucks and so forth.

ive looked extensively into this

adapters wont do it

youd have to change the entire bolt pattern

which depending on your time and budgest

might not be worth it

Tony Bennet (aka Red Baron) redrilled his hubs to take 6 stud Toy wheels. IIRC not all rear drums would be suitable for this.
