89 sidekick gear ratio ??????

89 sidekick gear ratio ??????

Hi, this is my first post on here, but I have been reading posts for a while.  My question is, this sidekick on ebay

is supposed to have 5.89 gears.  I thought that only the ones with 1.3s and the carbed 1.6 models had them.  Can anyone verify this to be true or not?

I've heard that the 91 4dr 8v kicks had 5.38 gears, along with the 1.3's like you said, but the 5.83 r & p is an aftermarket ratio and to my knowledge has never been offered from the factory.  Its also an auto, which i believe are geared lower anyways and usually recieve the 4.62 gears.

89, carbed, manual 1.3's in 2 door had 5.62's... rare.

The Tracker above most likely has 4.62's (or close, I forget exactly)

The guy is way misinformed.

35's?  lol...

yep. 89 1.6 with auto has 4.62's, 89 1.3 5 speed has 5.62's, and a 1.6 with a 5 speed would have 5.12's. the 1.6 is fuel injected, and the 1.3 is carbed, and i havent seen or heard on a carbed 1.6 from the factory.
