Phwew. We got the sucker out, and tomorrow I'm going to start unbolting the clutch stuff. Took all night to get out the transmission and clutch housing. It kept binding up on something (most likely just rusted parts). What a night.

I'm still worried about this transmission fluid thing. I read somewhere that I can add it to the shifter hole, and some of you guys say you can, and some of you say you can't. Can I? If not, where else can I find a place to add the fluid?

We can interact better if we use a shared language.  It's not "transmission fluid", it's "gear oil".  Please, you're disturbing the old timers and confusing the newbies.

There is a fill plug in the passengers side side of the tranny.  Should be a 3/8" square drive plug.

You can not add gear oil through the shifter hole to fill the tranny....all it will do is fill the shifter area with gear oil.
Tracker and Sidekick parts for sale.....PM me with your wants/needs.

I am a newbie. Hence the useage of the "transmission fluid" term ;)
