its strange, its not like the shifter is loose/sloppy, it feels normal when you take the t-case in and out yourself, witch would sugest that the interlock pin (detent spring) whatever you want to call it, is in place......

Now I'm having this issue too!

Of coarse we getting 16" of snow tonight and who would need 4x4 in that. ;)

It will only partial engage in high 4 and can't even budge it to slide into low 4!

I have to really push hard to keep it engaged, the neighbour said all four tires were spinning in the snow but as soon as I put any kind of excelerator down it pops out with a quick grinding clunk!

I've never seen this before!

Any suggestions?

is your 4x4 indicator light staying on when it pops out?  mine flickers but haven't noticed any issue with the 4x4, may be completely unrelated.

The indicator stays on for the most part. It doesn't sound like its the axle disconnect system but definetly the t-case.
Could a vacuum leak cause this?

If the Transfer shifter is popping out, it's either worn parts, broken or weak locating spring or a disengaged circlip in the TC.

Here's what I came across, water in the t-case!!

Took it inside a shop, dropped the fluid and found ice crystals, flushed and refilled and also blew out all the vacuum lines. Work properly now!
Received a tip from a heep guy on this.
Hope this may help someone else.
