Suzuki Grand Vitara 2003 UK Spec - Body Lift + Stearing

I am looking to do a 2" body lift on my Suzuki Grand Vitara 2003 UK Spec. However, it seems to have a different stearing column to any other Suzuki Grand Vitara that appears not only on this site but on many others also, because the strearing column is rivitted and not bolted together. This means that I cannot use the 'Rocky Road' extensions.

Has anybody come across this before and if so can you help me.

Suzuki 2ltr GV 2003. 2" Bits 4 Vits body lift. 1.5" spacers. 235/70/16 AT's. Under body armour. Strut brace - also Bits 4 Vits. 30ml wheel spacers.

Try Dave Jones at http://www.k9rdj.co.uk. He is currently lifting a Y reg and will be producing his own body lift shortly. He should know the answer to this one.

I have already been in touch with Dave and he has suggested welding a section in.
I have read somewhere that somebody has completed a 2" lift without requiring stearing extensions. Any ideas or thoughts?
