You got me wondering too now, so I did a little searching.  They have a review over at off-road.com.

http://www.off-road.com/products/reviews/directhits/hits.html

I wonder if they make one for the 2.5 V6 :)

I don't think they work on vehicles that have the plugs right on top the head in those little holes.

The 1.8 and up Suzuki engines have something similar to direct hits any way. One coil pack directly on top each plug. ;D

That looks like something that was/is being sold over here. If it is then all thats inside them is a couple of washers and an air gap. I've seen diy versions described in old bike mags. The theory is that the extra gap allows a bigger amount of energy to build up before a spark occurs.  I never bought one   :)
I couldn't find anything about it on Google, I have an article in a very old bike mag. If someone buys one I'll take it apart for them  ;D ;D

For a true comparison you would have to fit the new plugs, try it and then fit the Direct Hits modules. I see the plugs are non-resistor, they wouldn't be legal over here, too much Radio Frequency Interference.
