New Rocksliders from Rocky Road
« on: August 26, 2006, 09:27:04 AM »
Hey all,

I just did my (almost) daily check of Rocky Road Outfitters website, and found some new rockrails.  Not only do they have regular rails, but they have new "Rocksliders" that add more side protection and can be used like running boards, so that you can step up onto them.  This makes it easier to get in and out, and access the roof.  These look great!  I just wanted to bring it to everyones attention.  The more stuff we purchase from them, the more time they will invest in Grand Vitaras/99+ Trackers.  Later.

I love the design but it looks like they are using self tapping bolts to attach them to the frame.  ???

i run the regular rails.  they are attached to the frame w/ self tappers.  VERY solid rails, though.

I called them Yesterday to order a set of the SuperSliders for my 02 Tracker and they said they were not ready yet. And they didn't know when they would be::)

Sounds like typical RR.  I had great customer service from them when I bought my NoSlip for the Ranger but it seems like anytime they have to work on something of their own to release it they pre-advertise it and then immediately put it down on the list of things to get done. :P

Well I called again today and must have talked with someone different. Because they told me today that they are building them to order and I was able place an order on them today. They should build them this week and then get powdercoated on Friday if all goes well. If they get them done this week they should be shipped to me going out the begining of next week. I can't wait for the mods to start coming in so I can get wrenching on her and do a litle trail testing.
Just thought I would clear this up in case anyone else is wanting a set... ;)
