Thrash,

On my 1996 Sidekick Sport, there was a push button type switch that was pushed in when the brake was lifted up.

I was going to splice in another switch and mount it next to the gear shift so I could cut the connection when needed (such as when I hunt and don't want to drive up to the clear cut with my lights on).

I sold the vehicle before doing so, but plan on doing the switch install in my new-to-me 2002 Vitara.  It seems to operate in exactly the same manner.

late model suzuki cars have a wire connector under the hood near the latch, that when unplugged, disables DRLs. The plug is black and blue. you may wanna look to see if your ride has the same thing.
