I'm starting to get stuff together to build my 95 Tracker. Here is what I got.
1995 Tracker Tin-Top 16 Valve - Auto - Blown Motor
4.3 Vortech Chevy
TH350
T-Case Undecided
2.5 Rockwells
46in Michelins
I have my 96 Tracker for my street legal wheeler, and I have my 91YJ as my moderate wheeler. I was thinking about going all the way with the Rockwells.
Here be what I thinking, somewhere around 109in wheelbase. The final plan is to run 46in Michelins. But I am stuck with 42s till I get some more money. The 46's are cheap, the beadlocks aint. Suspension in the rear will be a tri-link. Simple to build and I have built them with success and like the results. For the front I was thinking about going really simple and doing a wristed setup. Something like 40" arms. I found a cheap supplier of 2" .250 wall square tubing and he also sells this other solid stock that fits inside the square. So basically you get a solid arm. Coils will be probably stock TJ. Dont got the cash for fancy coil-overs. Steering will be full hydraulic.
I think the frame will be ok with a good rollcage in it. Rad will have to get creative, but that aint all that bad. Specially compared to my YJ.
So I have everything listed, still need some other stuff to get started. But I think this will be a fun project, I have to retire my XJ so this will be its replacement.
