Ok, guys, im waiting to order a set of 31x9.5x15 swamper tsl radials that i intend to run on the stock rims on my 91 tracker.  Im wanting to get my tires before i purchase a lift simply because 4wheelparts has FREE SHIPPING this month, but i am curious to know if you think that the stock wheels will work to fit these tires.  im thinking either the sky mfg coil spacer/ b/l combo and/or cutting the fenders but i dont know if these tires are going to rub on the frame with the stock wheels.  anyone think this plan wont work? or any suggestions on what type of mods i'll need to do to make them fit?

I would believe that the stock rims would be a little too narrow.
Min rim width for 9.50 tire would be 7"inch

I have 30x9.5 and they rub the frame at fool lock, both sides But I have also, yet to fix the camber. I have a total of 2.5 in. of lift. I'm guessing with a 2 in. body lift and some spacers you should clear them pretty easily. Oh yeah, I'm also running stock wheels; more back spacing would help also to keep them off the frame

I'm running the same exact tires on stock rims and they do rub a bit at full lock. But , they also stay inside the wheel wells, don't contact anywhere else, and I've run mine down to 10lbs at Paragon, over Blue and some Black trails without any problems at all. I would like to get some alloy rims when I can find some cheap in the right size though.

i'm running a 30x9.5 on stock rims that are i believe are 6inches wide without concerns.  they do rub on the frame at full lock on both sides.  there is little question that your tires will rub, it's just how much.  if you are careful and know your ride enough you should be able to avoid this often.  especially with the big lugs on the swampers you will feel it in the steering wheel and hear the rub right away, the 1st time is happens you won't forget it.  buy them now if the deal is good, get spacers or rims later.

I wish I had bought the narrower 31x9.50's instead of the 11.50's..

I mean the 11.50's are good in the mud, but I think I would get better keying with a narrower tire.. I read a great article about narrow vs. wide trail tires...   it was very enlightening..

Yeah, hey, I am learning, I am from the full-size world.. I thought an 11.50 WAS narrow  LOL....


Nope, when time to replace my LTB's.. it will be with 32 or 33's  and less than 10 inches wide... prolly a 9.50.

Narrow tires and low pressure on light vehicles will let the tire flex more, and "key" better...

thank you guys for all your help. that tire width article was very interesting.  So i guess my plan now is to just get the tires, along with some wheel spacers and the sky body lift/coil spacer combo.  I appreciate the input very much.
