03' tracker what to do next
« on: February 27, 2005, 09:11:22 AM »
Alright I finally have some spending cash
As of right now my 03' tracker is basically stock drive train
I have 235/75/15's very aggressive AT's (i have pics if you want to look)
and a rocky road 2" BL w/ the coil spacers

I've been so far very impressed with the car, and I haven't been high centered yet (essentially i've been able to dig out free with open axels)

I'm thinking this
LSD from Calmini in the rear
ARB in the front
finish off the list, with OME shocks and springs from rocky road
add some skid plates
and new Tires...
Recommended was 31 x 11 LTB's or TSL radials
with some new wheels, with 3.5" backspacing (can't find anything more aggressive in canada)
and later on some 4:42:1 low gears

what I care about is this...
I run the 2.0L
on the 235's they're perfectly fine, no issues with highway driving

if I go to 31's especially interco's
how heavy will they be?
Should I change the r&p gearing?

this kind of concerns me, as I know of tons of people who have the old 87 Gen 4 runners with the 22re
powerplant wise, it's very compariable with the power I generate
however their 4runners running stock r&p's are unable to use 5th unless really pushing the rev's up in 4th and probably have to push past 65-70mphish

I really don't want to lose 5th gear nor too much power, but I am not sure how easy it would be to change out the r&p as I heard so many things about having to swap out the 3rd member
03' 2.0L CAMI Tracker w/ 1.5" Front Spacers, 2" Rear Spacers, 1 & 1/4" poly-rubber rear spacer w/ hose clamps, Monroe Crown Vic interceptor rear shocks,1/4" bumpstop extenders, 1.5" strut Extenders, removal of sway bar and strut bar + plenty of cutting for 245/75/16 Goodyear MTRs

if ur putting in an ARB and LSD u can ad 20 min. to each to install new R&Ps. actually not that much time because u have to pull the old r&ps and reset the backlash anyway. so just do it all at once and save the time.
4 1/2 body
Coil spacers
cheap but effective
31" LTB Swampers

Yeah, the 5.83 R&P's are perfect for 31's.

Just curious, if you're putting an ARB in the front, why aren't you putting one in the rear?

Oh, here are the dash switches that make all the difference in the world:

I would ARB the rear first. ITs stronger than the front.
But thats what I did.
One day I'll have ARB in the front ;D
