Electrical/Lights question
« on: March 04, 2005, 09:03:59 AM »
OK  My tail light/brake light is acting crazy. If my lights are turned off my brake lights work fine, bithe sides. If I turn my lights on my drivers side brake light no longer works. When I hit the brakes the entier bulb goes dark instead of getting brighter? The passenger side acts normal :-/  I replaced the bulb and it still does it. Any ideas?

.. clip on another earth wire - you might be lucky & fix it, if not earth a probe and start touching each bulb's earth terminal

Cool, I can hunt for the ground when I get back from Moab, I doubt I will have time for it before I leave. I just gotta hope I dont get followed by the police on the 1600 mile trip out there ::)

I bet we can fix it in Moab!  Think about it - you'll have more Zuk experience in one place, than you'll find anywhere outside of Japan, or the CAMI factory, and between all these people, I guarantee somebody will have the tools, and parts to fix it.  I expect it'll cost about a beer.

I wish we had a 110 welder, but we don't, it's 220 that we are using.. but I bet there will be welders down there.  But yeah, I agree with Bob, we can prolly fix it there.

In my former careers, I have been an electronics tech, and an electronics engineer.  Electrical stuff, I can handle.  Oh, and I can drag the FSM's along, with schematics.

In 2002, it was rumored that some of the folks at Slick Rock built a Sami out of spare parts DURING EJS.  Who brings spare frames and bodies?
