American Suzuki plans to sell 120,000 units in the United States this year, a hike of 46.2 percent over 2005 numbers. Much of the increase will come from two new vehicles the company will introduce this year, the SX4 crossover that will replace the Aerio sedan and wagon and the new XL-7 midsized sport utility that will be built at the Cami plant in Canada.
Suzuki plans to build 50,000 XL-7s, the company's first midsized SUV. Suzuki sold 82,101 units in this country last year, up 11 percent from 2004. It was its best sales year in the United States.
