I am planning on going up to a 33in tire. I am thinking of either the 33x12.50 tsl radials or the 33x13.00 LTBs. Right now I am running 32x10.50 tsl radials and I rub alttle on the frame. So I am thinking of buying more offset rims to move the wider tires out away from the fram..I am thinking of a offset in the 3-2.5in range. Would that be an okay offset or would the tires stick out too far from the truck that it would be com illegal (i live in OR)..Also what about an mechanical issuse might i see..Would there be more or less fender trimming so they dont rub? Thanks for the help sorry for the long winded simple question.

First off: Howdie ;D
Second: I'm running 32X10.50 with 2 3/4" offset
(95 Kick 6"combo lift)
Third: Get fender flares if you drive through Portland, Cops Are A-holes (city is greedy)
Fourth: Fender flares can be found cheap at JC Whitneys http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/showCustom-0/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2008752/c-10614/p-2008752/Ne-600004997/N-111+600004997+10714/tf-Browse/sct-body/s-10101/th-StoreCatalogDisplay/ss-10614(make sure they send you the right ones first)
Heavy duty 3"flares (no Wire)
mechanical issues. The farther out the tire hangs off center the more wear to bearings. Just proper maintance and they should be fine.
Last but not least. Yes you'll need some fender trimmings and floor moving for 33"s (BFH)
GIve a holler if ya need a hand ;D

Howdy...I live in Sandy and I work in portland off Columbia...I read the article that Heather did about trimming the floor...I was hoping that if i moved them out far enough I could skip that step...I was a Hawks a while back and they have 35.13.50 Claws on thier Kick with the 6" calmini kit and they did mess with the floorboards..So thats where i got the idea...thanks for the info

My Lil bro (works off Columbia) got busted 2 days after he got bigger tires (flares were on B/O)
Same cop, same attitude

he got busted with the flares on???? That sux >:( :(

Actually if you get rims with less backspacing(tires sticking out further from frame) you'll end up making the floor rubbing worse, not better. As you move the tire further outside the pivot point of the steering, the leading and trailing edges of the tire travel farther forward and back as you steer left and right...
The best thing would be to get rims that allow the tires you want to clear the frame, then pound back the floor board to clear the tread. This will also keep the tires covered more by the fenders..., less nagging by the cops.

No. He just got the tires (2days) and just ordered the flares and tryed to explain and the cop said "I don't care, You don't have them now"
I guess he heard that b-4 (from me, 2 weeks prior)

how much backspace would you recomend for 34 X 9.5" 2.5?

LOL, good thing about living in IA, with all the tractors etc, cops dont really care about flares. sorry to jump your post but i have a question too.
Heavy duty 3"flares (no Wire)
i am gann get these too, but why the no wire ones? i was ganna order tonight with wire, but now i will wait. thanks.

I don't remember why. I had a freind order a couple of these for his and other Kicks and just said it wasn't a good Idea.
I think it is because it will not stay round as it curves around the fender?
Or
Cause I said so ;) ;D

Hotrod..Do you have any problems with your flares warping and getting wavy at all?

I do have a kink or two but not too bad.
It's livable

Well, that's about the same width as my TSL's, so I would have to say that 3.75" or close to that would work well. That's what BS I'm running on my 31-9.50-15" swampers on my 90 Tracker.

Do you rub on the frame? I have 30 9.5 with 5" backspace that are rubbing a little. I guessed that by increasing the height of the tire 4" I would need to decrease the backspace by 2" since I was rubbing thought I needed a little more. I will be swapping tires back and forth so it should so too many miles on the big tires Anyone have any input I would appreciate it as I am planning on pulling the trigger on the tires this week thanks.

well first off back spacing doesn't do a thing without the proper off set most suzukis use a zero or postive offset. The back spacing refers to the monting pad to the rear lip. were offset is the distance the monting pad is moved either outboard or inboard from the center of the rim. So by going with a more negitve offset it will stick them out farther and postive will bring them in. Backspacing depends alot on width of rim and what you can get away with. so by just looking for a rim with that backspacing my run into problems cause alot of cars use the 5 on 5.5 with more negtive off set then the zuks need.

good enough for me ;D ;) 8) thanks.

I'm running 15x8" rims with 3.75" of backspacing, just to clarify the rim size. I don't rub the frame at all. These rims came off of a fullsize Ford truck and I got them for $30 for all 4. I actually have more frame clearance with the swampers on these rims than the stock silver steel rims with 215-75-15's! If I had it to do over again, I might have gotten 15x7" rims so I had more bead edge protection, and I still would have cleared the frame with the same backspacing, 3.75", but this setup seems to work very well...

thanks that helps
