Title: My Tracker quit smoking!.....?
Post by: Mikerpm4x4 on April 02, 2005, 01:48:46 PM
Lately my tracker has been smoking a little at idle. The longer it idles the more it smokes. In moab this year it was literally just rolling out the smoke. I thought 200k on the motor was just too much and it was just getting tired (lord knows I baby it), but yesterday it quit smoking. I let it idle of almost an hour today to be sure... no smoke. It also has more power. YES I checked, its not out of oil. So what could do that? I have an EGR code, but I dont see how that could do that.

Definately good to hear. Should reduce it's risks of getting lung cancer or heart disease. ;)

The cylinders could of been washed out with fuel if your comp was in open loop for a while and your comp might of started working again on the trip home? may you ran some arco gas in it? or you piston rings could of been in alingment and just decided to turn a little on there own? or your seals on your valve stems got a little softer if your oil smells like fuel? what is your ecm codes like?

:o WHAT  :o

She does not want to smoke after you ride her for a while  :-/  :P

Maybe she was just marking her territory in Moab, so all the jeeps know it's her domain ;D

Well, Mike, you gotta just love problems that mysteriously vanish!

The Gnewt spends months at a time throwing an EGR code, and then she just gets better for months at a time.  Never any logic to it - but then again "she" is a "she" for a reason!!!
