Title: 01 tracker calmini install help needed

hey guys im helping my grandpa do the 2.5 sus lift on his tracker..its a 4 door

well we cant get the pass side half shaft to seat inside the diff so i really need some help there

any helpwould be greatly appriciated

unlock the hubs  ;D

seriously if you have "auto" hubs, you need it to disengage so you can wiggle and turn the shaft to get it to go back in ...

it does have auto hubs but it is in 2wd right now so shouldnt the hubs in the front be disenguaged already?

still confused lol

No, you need to backup to make sure they are fully disengaged.

Actually, don't the 99+ have fulltime hubs with an air activated differential that disengages?

yes they do have full time hubs..well it did not anymore


and we got it in..all we had to do was grease the sharft before we put it in and had to turn it while i pushed..slipped right in

he gained 5" in the front and 4 2/3" in the rear thats on the stock 215 tires hes gunna get some 31" tires to put =-) so its gunna be cool

Do you have anything other than the Calmini kit on there?  I gotta get me one of those 2.5" lift kits.

WOOOT 5" wouldn't that give problems with the CV's overextending and stuff  ???

I would think so

u sure u got 5.5" of lift out of a 2.5" kit?

well it was 5" on the front..and that is 20 secconds after it was installed lol so it will sag

also with the 2.5kit it came with a small diff drop on the front

looks like 1 1/2"  so the angles are fine

and yes that 2.5kit is all that is on there even has stock size tires still

so we are assuming itl sag 1" or so front and rear but he is going to get some 31s so that will more then make up for the sag
