Title: Project: 95% complete
Post by: zukiking on June 12, 2017, 03:58:16 PM
It started out as a stock 1987 sammurai. When we acquired this Sammi it was the aqua blue color and perfect carpet and working heat and air conditioning . . After many years running up and down the river banks the water and sand took its toll. We had it before camera phones were even a thing so this build goes way back.
We Started with a homemade spoa and home arched springs added about 4" of lift. Had this setup for years untill the motor got a little river water in it and we let it sit for a couple years.
My old man was tired of letting it sit so he decided to give it to me.

I have had this thing for 3 years now and as this thing has progressed my experience level with Offroad toys has too.

Everything I have done to it so far in a list and pictures to follow.
Rebuilt the motor
Port polish head gasket matched
Weber carburetor

Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt transfer case I installed the low range 6.5:1 transfer case gears.

Fabricated a missing link set up with yj springs got the shocks from trail tough
Great people to work with by the way.

Built the front and rear bumpers
Built a Baja roll cage for it and then decided to go with an SUV cage

Everything was rebuilt or fabricated from myself it has been a fun 3 years now time to go wheeling..!

More cage pics and rustoleum liner sprayed in that stuff is garbage by the way really hard to get mud off of it.
