Hi all, Am helping my son-in-law put a 1.6 16v into his Sami. He wants an automatic for his daughter so picked up a '94 4 dr. Tracker with the 4 spd. auto. We're planning on using the Tracker T-case instead of the Sami case. My question:
Has anyone cut out the Sami floor pan and transplanted the Tracker floor pan? I'm in Idaho and vehicle is in AZ so I can't measure things. I'm hoping someone has tried this route and has some input.
Thanks, Allan

One issue with that swap is that the rear output shaft is going to be off. You also have to be careful with the drive lines, going from a flange setup to slip yokes.
I would look at the following adapter from Trail Tough, that way you can use the 4-speed but keep the Samurai t-case.

I know this is not what was asked, but, why not just teach her to drive standard - it's really not that difficult, all my girls can - that's what they learned on, and they switch back & forth quite easily.
