Title: Idles until warm then dead
Post by: TintopMan on May 08, 2016, 06:51:03 PM
Hey guys it's been awhile since I've been on. (New account jow) I have a 1.6 8v swap samurai running 1.3 carb, electric low psi pump. Before I get crazy with details just wondering if anyone has an idea about what causes it to die.

Car starts fine with cold idle, able to Rev it, even "drive" it. Once it starts to warm up it starts to run rough, die when trying to hold a higher rpm and wont idle, also when it does die, long crank Before start or I have to go like half throttle to start it.

Found this on lowrange but I'm not sure if this could be it. http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/suzuki-off-road-parts/samurai/air-fuel-system/suzuki-samurai-mixture-control-valve-jet-check-valve-for-carbureted-models.html (http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/suzuki-off-road-parts/samurai/air-fuel-system/suzuki-samurai-mixture-control-valve-jet-check-valve-for-carbureted-models.html)

Checked all vacuum lines. Routed and secure. Some are super old but when hit with brake clean, engine does not Rev up. I did have some gunk gas in it but the Jets are squirting clear. When I first completed the swap car idled perfect cold or hot but would not rev without breading up. Did plugs wires cap rotor and coil, set timing and idle. Drove it for about a mile or so then this situation started to happen. My dad asked a good question just now. How about the distributer?
