Title: 8v and 16v fuel pump
Post by: smife on November 07, 2012, 10:42:10 AM
The fuel pumps for a 16s. vs. 8v look identical. This whole time I was under the impression they were different.  :sleepy:

So an 8v fuel pump will work fine in a 16v, correct??? And the other way around?

That should mean a 16v OBD2 2 door tank will work in a 95 OBD1 2 door. Just don't use the pressure switch??

What are the part numbers on the fuel pumps? If they are the same then that should answer your first question, however if they are different numbers then I would err on the safe side and use the 16v fuel pump for the16v engine and vice versa for the 8v... the 16v FP would work in the 8v but the 8v FP would not work in the 16v simply because the 8v pump would not be able to provide enough fuel for the 16v engine.

8V and 16V fuel pumps will interchange fine.
