Title: Help! 1.6L 8v Swap - 86 Sammy - Best Donor Year???

Does anyone know what would be the best donor year for a 1.6L 8v EFI swap into my 86 sam?  I want to keep the stock tranny if possible.  Someone told me different year donors will change what tranny I will need... is that true?  I want to get this project rolling asap but need to get the engine figured out first.  Thank you sooo much for any help!!

Warning!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM  "NATIONWIDEPARTSHOP.COM"  Tim Killinger took my $(1,200) and never shipped a dang thing!  I had to file with my card issuing bank to fight him for my $$ back... the guy's a crook!!

any 1.6 will work with the adapter plate you have to buy, the 1.8 and 2.0 gets spendy they have a 2.4 I think now also. on the 1.6 you have obdI and ObdII so around 1995 and newer your engine light will not work unless you hook up the tank sensor.

Right on! Thank you for the advice... I am sooo itching to get my zuki going.  I have my lift kit, all new interior, thorley heads, Neon Seats, superman cape!  ready to go!!  :)  I will post some pics once I get underway.
