Title: Why will no one step up.
Post by: willzila on October 04, 2012, 06:41:39 AM
To solve our gearing woes for good!  I want a aftermarket Tcase with 4.2 reduction in high range and 1.5 in low for my sidekick.  I have a 2 door 1990 5spd maunaul now. So no doubling T cases or the undertaker  I don't have the space, RP gears are hard to find lower then my current 5.12's so the only thing I can do is run 4.2 t case gears and call it good and accept my crappy high range. Why will no one make a aftermarket Tcase!!! Come on trail tough or calmini. Or someone!

I plan on a undertaker and I have a 2dr on 31's, you just need to kick the rear axle back a few inchs. My AE lift kit has longer rear lower links that allow up to 3.5" extension. I also plan on slip yoke eliminators and a double cardon driveshaft for the rear and run 4.3 thirds. that should get me about right in high range and give a deeper low range at 2.7:1 without going all the way to a 4.2 lowrange which for me is too low for the majority of trail riding I do.

You could shell out for the 4.2 tcase gears, and check out Skyhighranger's ad's in the classifieds for a set of 5.62 FACTORY diff's to replace yours. Both will give you what your looking for but it's not cheap. Still, many of us have made the investment in gears and I for one think it's one of the best improvements you can make to a lifted Trackick.

Why not do a Sami tease swap? 1.409 hi- range and a 2.xx low range with the 5.13's that would be ok for 33's. I done some figuring and I want to look for some 4:30's get the 4.16:1 case gears and call it good with some 33's.

stak makes a four speed transfer, how many gears do you need? just takes money and stir.

The reason there is not a 1.5:1 t-case option like there is with the Samurai is the fact that in high range on the samurai you still go through a set of gears.  That is why the Samurai t-case has off-set rear output shafts.

The only option is to run with the Samurai T-case swap, as 95tracker mentioned, or swap over to something more exotic.

The undertaker is a nice option if you have room for it, it also gives you the reduction in low range as well as high.

One option is to switch to a 9" or Toyota rear end with 5.88's in it then swap your front gears out for a set of 5.88's so you can keep the stock front suspension setup.

I have spoken to Turkish company  http://www.4xfourart.com/ (http://www.4xfourart.com/) and they have 5.71 ring and opinions for the tracker. They are not cheap. But then again neither where the 5.83s...

Is the 350 euro's for the front and rear or just one set?
