just a question and i don't mean to be rude but just why would you have a D-plate skid plate?
stu
-
what is the retail price on the bds kit?
-
whats wrong with diamond plate as a skid plate?? a guy on the explorer site had a pimp d-plate skid plate
btw i like it alot..hope mine looks like that prety soon =)
-
well a skid plate is supost to skid over stuff, and D-plate was made to use a somthing to get grip on. grip and traction off road don't mix on the same part.
stu
-
yah but with 2klbs giving it a slidding force i dont think it would get enough traction to stop the car
it might just take a little oompf =) and the way most people wheel trackers im sure they wont be short on ompf

So thats what you do with the old tires. :D

the bds lift is right around 500 dollars and you get springs all the way around, struts for the front, shocks for the rear and it takes about 2 hours to install.

the diamond plate and skid plate was a freebie that i made. made out of 3/16 alumini diamond plate.

Nice ride!
Free diamond plate is a good thing!!
BUT, I'm with 1bigtracker. You put that diamond plate on a big rock and you most likely won't slide over it. Even smooth alum. can be bad. It's soft and a good rock can goug it and hold you solid.
I've seen rigs where all it needed was the slighted push with one hand to help it along. Also watched a friend push a lock Sami on 33" back into a mud hole all by him self (with only his hands and feet).
So, some times it's the littlest stuff that makes the difference.
