Well when I got the samurai there was no real support for the battery just some piece of what looked like it used to be the actual metal that rusted out, here's what I did:
1. took the grinder around the edges to even it up
2. measured
3. measured again
4. grabbed my old road sign from the basement
5. laid the lines out
6. cut what i needed
7. bent the edges
8. test fit
9. bent some more/trimmed a corner
10. installed the new tray

the finished product

Sooo.... disappointed that you could of kept the "Fines For Removing Road Signs Decal" still visible on the piece you used !!
It would have been such a defining touch!!

It's still there haha just on the other side. If the state tries to fine me I'll tell em it's there fault they didn't use strong enough metal/hardware otherwise it wouldn't have wound up in my yard after a windstorm!

Thanks! Anything is better than the hole that was there before.

...now you can stop buying giant battery's for replacement ...so as not to fall down the hole! Nice.

Nice job , but now you need to get a gel battery and never worry about that happening again.
