Title: how to install a samurai front axle in a sidekick
Post by: airmanwilliams on September 26, 2011, 10:32:04 PM
Can anyone share with me what I might be getting my self into if I swap a samurai front axle into my 93 sidekick? Possibly any homebrew writeups out there? I cant find it again but I know 93kicker did it on his old one awhile back but never got the steering figured out and I really dont have the cash to put down on the calmini kit while im going to school the next couple years.

I can think of two ways to do this - either way there's going to be quite a bit of fab work involved, and if you're not doing it yourself, it's going to cost a bundle.

The first is to get rid of the IFS and fab some sort of three/four link live axle - and - the second is to use the Sami center to build a steel housing for the IFS - and coincidentally someone has just dug up an old thread on that - using a Sami rear axle.

The trick I use is when using the google search put in site:zukiworld.com so it limits it to responses from the forum.  :)

Check out this forum link, it looks like it has a lot of info.  I just quickly skimmed it though, but there should be a few more:

Because I am usually looking for posts from this sight.  If I don't find the one I am looking for I expand it.  :D
