I HAVE AN 88 SUZUKI SAMURAI RECENTLY REBUILT MY MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION AND WHEN PUTTING THE MOTOR BACK IN (1.3) THERE IS A THIN PLATE BETWEEN THE MOTOR AND TRANS DO I HAVE TO REINSTALL THIS PLATE OR WILL IT BE OK WITHOUT IT

Put it in, it's the spacer for the starter to engage the flywheel in the right spot

i have a question for you on timing
the guys at petroworks tell me when the timing lines are lined up tdc on the crank and on the cam that the distributor should be pointing to no.4
every engine Ive ever built you line up no.1 to tdc
i have a 1.3

That would be correct, the marks would be crank pointing up
and cam pointing down to be on #1, this is normal Suzuki and
is the same on the 1.6 engines also
