How many rust spots are on it? Other then the one hole in the driver side fender could the rust it be fixed with some sanding?
I'm from Alberta and thinking of flying down there and driving it back.
-
i will have to take a closer look tomorrow. haven't really looked at it or driven it for 6 months. as i recall they were mostly surface rust spot
-
Ok thanks.
Are the spare axles just shafts or two hole diffs, and what other parts come with it? I'm trying to think how to fit it all on the sami, would two of those racks that go into the hitch receivers carry all the extra parts? And how good is it for the freeway, its about a three day drive back to where I live in Alberta
-
sorry man been out of town. I would say that it is decent on the highway.
I am a big guy so I dont like to drive it much longer than a few hours away, it can do 70-80 on flats. But would need to down shift and run higher rpms on hills to stay around 60.
At higher speeds you have to shift in and out of 5th gently as the powertransfer through the t case puts quite a bit of load on the rear end. If you shift hard and fast the back end is a bit squirly at high speeds.
Looked like the rust is mostly surface stuff and should be repairable. I have extra axle housings, a transmission, and some other random other parts. All available if the deal is right.

No problem, I'm still trying to find out what paper work I need to bring it across the border.
And how far are you from the Airport in slc?
-
about 10 minutes
-
Now if I can get the paper work done, and figure out how to get to moab so I can go wheeling for a couple of days before I go back to Alberta.
