Title: thorley help please.
Post by: HburgPA on April 09, 2011, 06:57:16 PM
my stock exhaust manifold is cracked so this is the perfect time to upgrade, no doubt right? with the calmini being on back order for majority of the year, till august i believe ive been looking at the thorley tri-y for my 8v motor, but it says exhaust work is needed. what is it thats required?

Most likely "exhaust work is needed" means that you have to mod the OEM exhaust to fit onto the Thorley flange.

A better idea is to rip that OEM exhaust out and have a muffler shop build you a 2 inch exhaust system.  Of course, this is optional - adapting would be cheaper...

I have a Thorley that I had installed on a 2.25" exhaust system that went into service with the Thorley way back in 2001.

It works great - no cast iron maniford cracks!    ;D

i figured that it meant work needed to the OEm exhuast, and believe me, when i get this header that whole OEM system is gone.

Sean at Low Range sold me my exhaust and header as a package. I swapped the Thorley for the Camini header but kept the rest of the 2" exhaust kit. Bolt in.

Sean gave me his package price for the complete Calmini 2" exhaust but substituted the Thorley header. They are interchangable.
