Title: 3rd Brake light

2000 Tracker, 2dr, 4x4.......

Just noticed that when I turn the ignition key to the on position, the 3rd brake light is lit as if I am depressing the brake pedal. Looking for suggestions to solve the problem.

Wife has already suggested removing the bulb..............

Could it be part of a bulb check system. or DRL system that pops on with the key?

It does come on with the key as does the DRLl's........but methinks it's not supposed to

Does the 3rd brake light stay on after the start? or just during start?

after...........in fact, the bulb has been burnt out. Noticed it stayed on after I replaced the bulb
