What do you have currently? Is it an automatic or manual transmission?

A3

Then a set of manual trans gears will help you

As far as "free" mods, they're only going to be free if you get lucky, and find somebody giving stuff away.
Steer clear of the "increased horsepower chips". They're all frauds.
Don't run off and buy a Jacobs Electronic Ignition. I did. It didn't make a bit of difference, and in about a year self-destructed, and I was back to factory ignition.

There's no such thing as free mods, well that give you any real power increase anyway. Just optimize what you have, good tune up, proper valve adjustment, clean filters, good oil, make sure your brakes aren't dragging, dump any extra weight you don't really need. If your looking for more power it's there, it's just gonna cost you. I suppose you could advance your timing a couple of degrees and run premium, but that's still not " free." Premium costs more. There is a lot of info on this forum about making these engines more powerful, but I've never seen any real gains for " free."

thanks guys iv always been a lt1 camaro guy and i had built one and i know they had some free mods and some mods that helped with handling and things hat were free. as far as gears what would i be looking for as far as price and what kinda 4low ratio will i get???

Well, the 4.24:1 low range gearset is REALLY NICE. It's not cheap, but man is it an amazing difference. It keeps your high range at 1:1, but changes your low range from 1.8:1 to 4.24:1.
Now I've got the 5.83:1 R&P's (almost impossible to get those today), and ARB Air-Lockers front and rear, but that's a ton of money. It means I can go almost anywhere on my 33's. I've goth the Calmini 6" combo-lift package, with the Anvil steel front and Toyota 4-runner front CV axle mod. Oh, and the Calmini rear axles, and roll cage.
Note: That's probably about $10,000 of mods. No free mods here.
