Title: intermittent wipers? Is there a way?
Post by: dellstoptracker on June 08, 2010, 08:40:03 PM
Going insane with the on going nw rain and no intermittent wipers on my 90 tracker. Is there a wiper switch from a newer rig that may work im not aware of?

I wonder if you can wire in a variable resister to change the wiper speed on the intermittent setting.

I'm with you though, the rain the last few weeks has been a pain.  :D

I do not know about a switch from another type of rig but I have seen aftermarket intermittent switch assemblies sold in auto parts stores before I have been wanting one for my 86 Samurai just have not gotten to it yet.

My Sidekick was the JLX model, came with a
single time delay

You should be able to use the multiswitch assembly from another trackick to get the intermittent wiper feature.  Most trackicks I have seen have had it.  It is actually rarer to not have it....from what I have seen.  My 89 JLX had it, so it was available from the get go.

Yeah, I almost positive that if you got the combo switch assembly from a Sidekick or Tracker w/that option you could plug it in and you'd have wiper delay... Maybe have to get the wiper motor control assembly too... But I think the wiring and everything is in there for it to have it... like previously stated, it's quite rare to not have the delay wiper.

Is he talking about the 3 speed switch or the ability to add an actual variable intermittent so you can adjust the speed yourself?

The way I read it is that he was looking for intermittent wipers.....didn't care whether it was "adjustable" or not.

I just want more than the two settings I have. Fast and very fast.
I will browse the junkyard for a sidekick and see what I can find.
