Title: Dumb question, How to I get to the Low Port to charge my AC?
Post by: TeriLynn38 on June 04, 2010, 12:00:57 PM
I have a 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara and bought a can of that coolant stuff for the AC as mine only blows hot air. I have finally found the low port, but how in the heck do you get to it? I have taken out the top bolts on the front grill but cannot figure out what or how it is still holding on the corners? I NEED AIR!!!!  I am NOT a mechanic, nor can I afford one. Anyone know how to get to the low port? HELP!!!!!   ???

There are five friction plugs holding the bottom of the grille in - they just pull out, but I would suggest that you be very carefull with the two at the outer ends, I suspect it would not be too difficult to break the grille.

Before you go adding refrigerant - what, other than the lack of cooling, makes you think it needs refrigerant?  There are many possible reasons for the system to not cool, low refrigerant is just one, and if the refrigerant is low there's quite possibly a leak in the system that needs to be fixed.
