I don't have much money right now so I can't afford to build a new rear bumper with lights. I decided to build a receiver hitch/bumper guard out of some steel I had sitting around. I wanted it to protect what is left of my stock tail lights and provide a good tow point in the back.
I first relocated my tag to the tail gate. Last summer I bought a set of tag light bolts that hold the tag and light it up. Once the tag was mounted and the tag bolt lights were wired up I started building the receiver/guard.
I while back a guy gave me a receiver hitch off of a Toyota. I cut it up and used some steel tubing that I had left over from another project. I did have to borrow a few sticks of 6011 and 6013 from a friend to finish this project. Sorry but I only have pics of the finished product because my wife had the camera when I was building it.
