Hello Everyone,
Well this is far more addicting than I ever thought possible. I originally bought this vehicle for hunting I was never going to to do anything to it, and then ...well I guess I got hooked. When I purchased it, it already had two inches of suspension lift in it , 2" spacers in the back and the shock towers in front were flipped. The rag top was torn and weathered so it came off and I put on the bikini top that came with it. It stayed that way for about two weeks! Then the mods started, here is a list of what I have done so far.
Painted the rims camo first
crown vic shocks in the back
New Camo paint, painted by me and the wife with a complete coat of gravel guard.
New stereo (a cheap one $150.00 bucks with speakers)
new seat covers
Built the front bumper
8500 lbs superwinch
new at2 tires 235 75r16 29 1/2 "
new tonneau cover
used rear hard top (Free)
built the back bumper and Jerry can holder
3" home made body lift
I think that's about it, my wife would probably remind me of a couple more things but who's counting ha ha.
And thanks to all you guys who post your tips and tricks, I couldn't have done with out ya! CHEERS!
Here are couple pics of before and after.
Thanks again for everything.

Hey i like the bumpers the look nice. Would you reccomend to do them that way again, or would you want to change them? and What high way speeds can you do with those 31inch at's?
Appreciate the help thanks

Hey thanks for looking,
I think I would build my bumpers the same way, They are pretty beefy but they work well for the kind of driving I do. Rock crawling maybe a different story. I have went through some pretty steep ditches and not got hung up on anything so for.The one thing I still have to do is put a skid plate on. As for the Tires they are 29 1/2 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide and I can get 65 mph on the highway, it may take a few minutes to get there but it does get there and it tacks out about 3400 rpm on my tack (aftermarket).
Thanks

Nice work.
Looks like a Westsyde Park background?
If so, I grew up out there.
Working on a 97 Sunrunner I recently purchased.
Did the Calmini lift with 235/75/15's.
Thinking about the Costco 4500 pound Campion winch they have up there.
Wondering if it would be big enough?
Have a 10,000 pound Ramsey which would be over kill on this rig.
It may straighten out the tipped out front tires though.
Where did you find the wheels and what is the width and back step?
Would love to see this rig.
I'm out in Dallas right now, no not Texas.
Regards.

That is really an amazing camo job, just took a second look at those pictures..
I used to do camoflauging for the paintballers and airsofters around here, plus a few random car parts, but never a whole car...yet ;) how did you paint and seal it?
If only it was a 4 door, you'd have my heart. :P

your quite right about westsyde park background I also grew up out here and still live out here. The back set up is 61 inches i believe the back swings open and the Jerry can comes out from the back. I don't know about those Costco winches i have seen some of them fall apart under some easy loads. The only thing mine has pulled out so far is my deer. in my opinion there is no such thing as overkill. The wheels are white spoke mags 5 on 5 1/2 16 " i had them sandblasted and did the camo on them, they were the test for the camo paint. pm me sometime i work out at the old Neville plant on kokanne way.

I am quite happy with the way the paint turned out, i did not seal it I used the four camo colors from krylon plastic coat with fusion technology. That is the beauty of this paint job i can touch it up anywhere anytime i carry the leftoverpaint in the kicker. If i see some cool vegetation it is as simple as picking it up spaying against it and you are left with the negative of the shape. I did not use no stencils only real vegetation from around the plant where i work. Oh and the four door is next I am looking right now.

Glad to hear the 4 door is next...Chances are we'll end up with similar looking zuks then.
I just bought a box of each paint, Krylon Fusion Camo is the best paint, you will ever buy. period. Although the ultra flat is sometimes a dust grabber on car parts.

paint it with gray primer first for best results i also gravel guarded the whole thing i only used two cans of each color for the whole paint job, $160 for everything including the primer, gravel guard, paper for windows and thinner's. 30 hours or so of labour and that included welding in some new steel on the rockers and new steel in the rear drivers side corner.

Well its been quite sometime since I have been on here! Been building my new shop! needed a warm place to keep the sidekick.LoL
Anyways, here are a few more pics, since the shop has been built I redid the bumbers and rims in black and built a rack for the hard top and added some lights. I Think I like the black way better than green.

looks great have always wanted to camo my tracker but wouoldnt come out half that well

Really it's not that hard this was my first try. It definately takes a bit more time to paint but you don't have to be so crital on the prep. small dents and so on the rust and sealing is typical of any paint job. i also did not clear it so i can touch it up very easily. i suspect clearing wouldnt be that big of a deal and still easy to tuch up but i also like the flat finish no sheen when your in the bush to spook the deer...lol.
