I fail to see the logic there - and the link to the newx website didn't make it any clearer.

That's like saying all Suzukis have weak front diffs because the GV has a weak front diff - when in reality some GVs (those with aluminum front diffs) have weak diffs, whilst others don't (some have steel diffs) and there are very few complaints about the Samurai & SJs.

As far as I can tell - in reality even the so called weak GV diffs are upto the task that Suzuki required of them - they don't start to break until folks start to abuse them, larger tires, lower gears, rock crawling, etc., etc., etc., - in my neck of the woods, it's mud & sand, and I've never heard of anyone here breaking one.

Where's your evidence ??

There is a sticky on the new x concerning diff failure.

Do a search on "titan swap" alot of the frontier/xterra guys will swap basically the whole front suspension because they break the front diffs. Also the titan swap allows for more front end travel

This guy ended up doing a solid axle swap because he went through 2 diffs.
