Yes, a lot of stuff will interchange... What are you specifically looking to do?

The G13A is a 1324cc 8v, SOHC engine with a 74.0mm bore and 77.0 mm stroke.
The G13B is a 1298cc version, with a 74.0 mm bore and 75.5mm stroke - but - can be found in both SOHC & DOHC versons with 8 and 16 valves respectively.
Many parts, but not all, can be interchanged.

Thanks I really don't know what I need to do . I bought a g13b new . I was going to use a crank,rods & pistons I got off of ebay from a g13a,seems to me what you said about stroke ,I can't do that. Am I correct with that assumption? Thanks Goldfinder

Do you want to put a 13b into a Samurai?
Yes...
Then, you need to just switch over a few things from the Samurai engine to the Swift engine. The cam, distributor housing w/dizzy, water tube at back of water pump, swap over the intake and exhaust if you want Samurai stuff, engine mounts off of Samurai... That's about it. Basically, you can take the Swift long block and switch over all of you Samurai stuff to it and put it into your ride.

Thanks,more concerned with crank,rods and pistons ,I still don't know if these will interchange.
-
The crank - no - it has longer throws;
The rods - I doubt it - a longer stroke usually requires a longer rod to ensure the piston clears the longer crank throw.
The pistons - maybe - but I'm not certain.
Edit - I was looking at another forum, and came across a thread which says the rods are the same - I have no personal experience so you might want to take a look yourself.

Thank you guys a lot you have saved me,I have it all at the machine shop and was looking for a 13b gasket set. Do any of you know anyone that may want a new g13b block(not used)? Again Thank You Goldfinder

I'm still a bit confused... Why do you not want to use the 'b' engine? In my experience, they run quieter and have the same power as the 'a' engine. Not to offend but it seems like you're doing a lot of extra work.

Thanks ERIC: I came across a g13b block that was new straight from Japan( just block) and not knowing any better I bought a crank,rods,pistons,flywheel and a pan on e-bay that had been removed from a g13a. I took it all to a machinist to have the crank and rods checked out and turned and fitted with bearings,luckily he did not put it together waiting for me to find an engine rebuild kit for it and now I find out these parts wont work in it and here I sit all embraced and broke with all these parts I can't use. Need to sell. Goldfinder

hmmm, not to throw you for a loop BUT I sell and use and build both g13a's and g13b's they are both used in sammy's and the block, heads , rods, everything swap back and forth. from what ive seen when somebody buys a motor and sends me a core from a 90-95 sammy i get the g13b block as a core when i sell 86-89 i get the 1324 g13a block back. maybe you could post some pics....that MAY help. there is enough tech people here to figure you out!

as long as its a 1.3 sohc 8 valve samurai 100% match. The crank out of the 1298 has a slightly diiferent stoke but 100% interchanable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
