i remember distinctly fixing a gash/rusted out section of a friends exhaust while having it in the shop with some duct tape (had to have it sealed up so the exhaust would actually go into the exhaust ducting and not just go out the holes.

it was temporary. had it cut out and a new tube welded in, just needed to start it up and run it for a minute or two.
