I wanted rock sliders for my truck but with the dollar exchange being a little weak right now I found a good option that was available locally to me. Trail Gear make some generic sliders in different lengths for Toyota's. The short ones were still a little long so I decided to cut out 10" and weld them back together.
Before taking the chop saw to them,

After,

They sell the mounting brackets separately so those got welded onto the frame and a quick coat of paint so they won't rust,

Welded the sliders on and bingo!

Turned out pretty good and didn't cost me more than $200. Went wheeling on Saturday and didn't break them so I guess my welds were good.

Very nice man. Now you're ready for the hard group at powerfest. :D

hmmm.... makes me wonder about doing the same for my kick... how long did it take?

Took me about 3 hours after work one night. Would have been quicker but I screwed up on one weld and had to redo it.

Nice job, and you got to go wheeling same week. Any shots of the sliders in use? Or just the run?

Those look really good. I have similar style bars and love how handy they are.
