Welcome,

Read the Article Archives (link in the top nav bar), check out the Gear Guide section (link in the top nav bar too) and start searching the forum. That'll give you a good basis to ask specific questions.

Good Luck, Eric

With the 3 speed, you can add the 5.125 diff gears from 4 or 5 speed kicks, and be re-geared well for 30-31" tires. If you already have the GV springs, slap 'em on (2-4 hours with a friend) and see how much lift you get (will depend on how "fresh" your springs are compared to the GV). From there, your lift options are (NOT considering international shipping):

Jeff's spring spacers (he'll chime in) for about $200 (retains stock suspension travel & ride quality)
OME for $700: Vastly improves ride quality (will probably need to do 1" of fender trim or body lift to fit 31")
Body lift (DIY for cheap - $200): I'm not usually a fan of doing more than 1" of body lift, but a lot of guys do it.

The searching on this site stucks. Use google's advanced search by typing, "[insert search stuff here] site:zukiworld.com". This will search all of zukiworld (including tech articles and bbs).

awesome thanks for the info. I bought some spacers but the guy never sent them so im thinking im going to do the GV spring lift. I like the idea of a taller spring not just a spacer.

Depending on how much lift you get, you may need to do a strut mount flip in the front, and will probably need to do F-150 or Mustang shocks in the rear.

LOL no i definitly did not buy them from you. I bought them from a bum on ebay. The worst part is im in the military and i bought them before i got moved to here in Italy which was in November and i still have not received them. I bought 4 2" spacers with rocky road's rear shocks for like $125. Thought it was a good deal but now i know i got jipped >:(. Now im looking else were.

I just finished installing Jeffs spacers in my 96 2 door. All went smooth, and I am very happy with it.

You have to watch who you buy from on E-Bay! From what I've been hearing Internet scamers Nigerians and the like are running E-Bay scams.

:) LOL yea really. I am saving up for the 4.5" kit from Zukination right now. I know its pricie but i think they are a better company. Anyone have their .02 or recommendations on a lift on a shoe string budget. Remember im in the military.

You can order a set of OME struts and shocks from Trail Tough, ( Brent is way cool) and add a set of Jeffs spacers front and rear, or go with a complete OME lift, Coils, struts and shocks from Trail Tough. Still way cheaper than Zukination's but not nearly as complete. The Control Arms and the other misc. Metal bits sure are nice.  But, do you need them?

If you've got the $$$ to spend, go OME. Otherwise, Jeff's spacers & if you REALLY want to go big, start fender trimming, or body lift. I wouldn't go with Zukination's kit.

Rather then start a new thread I thought I would add to this one.

If I buy a set of OME springs and shocks/struts and pair that with Jeffs coil spacers, what could I expect to gain?

What other parts would I need?

Would I have to worry about CV angles or driveshaft extensions and such with this setup?

I recently purchased a 95 sidekick 4dr and I'm looking to give it a better stance and slightly better performance in the desert. It wouldn't really be used on tough rocky trails, but mainly rutted out dirt trails in the desert and dirt/sand. The reason I'm considering both the new OME kit and the spacers is because my current shocks/struts/springs are worn out. Instead of replacing with stock components I thought I'd replace with something a little better. Would I even need the spacers after installing a complete OME upgrade? What other suggestion might you have for me.

I appreciate all the help.

-Nick
