Title: newbie, stock 87 "Tin Top" suspension how big on tires?

Hello Gang!  I just picked up a totally stock "Tin Top" and want to "Fix-er-up" a little to see how far I want to go. I haven't been  into cars for years (telling my age) but my little girl is about to get to the age to "DRIVE" (shudder) and I picked this project for us both so my wife can't say much.I would like to start with taller tires for all the right reasons but need to know "How Big"! I am not above trimming a little but I don't even know where to start. Any and all input is welcome. It is a 87 suzuki samurai "Tin Top"
