Thank you, Eric

I don't like the steering wheel.

Do you have any idea if they are still sticking with the three different packages? Muck like most of us the idea of a fatory vehiial that is mstly trial ready is pretty tempting.

They will be offering the RMZ-4 package for sure. This is the one with the bigger tires, better shocks, selectable locker, and some other stuff. The pickups should be hitting the dealers late November / early December.

Uh...huh? ???

Hmmm... If I was in the market for a new mini-truck, I'd definately check it out, being a Zook and all.
But I'm not, so...
*here it comes Eric*
I'll wait for the Katana. ;)
-
Very Nice truck!!! so did you find out if the would trade off one of there 'press release beaters' for my snazzy Suburban ???
Zig ;D

Check in the Equator forum... I answered that there..

On another positive note, it's been a while, but Calmini can once again market a "new" suspension for a Suzuki vehicle by simply putting their Nissan Frontier kit on their Suzuki page.

At least we dont wait YEARS for some aftermarket parts!
80 mph in low range....what were they thinking? :sleepy: ???

Sorry, I had been up for about 5 minutes. My hands don't limber up like they used to. :P

It does make it real peppy though... It'd be fun for street light to light "cruizin" ;)

or a sign of mental illness.

That is a good looking truck. The more I look at the pics the more I like it. If the first drive in it is impresive as my first ride in an SX4 it's got to be good. Price range is keeping me curious 8)

...like my winch bumper

I don't really get what all the hype is about. Just because it has a giant "S" plastered to the front does NOT make it a genuine Suzuki. :police:

With respect, what would make a vehicle a genuine Suzuki? Is it design? Place of manufacture? ... Or, something else?
-Eric
-
there no such thing as genuine any more, it doesn't matter what company it is. not that it's a bad thing I think you get better automobiles out of the deal
I like the Equator because you can get the 4cyl in it, last I checked the nissan only came with the 6cyl
-

2 solid axles, short wheel base, body on frame, true low range, you know, the usual things that we all fell in love with Suzuki for.
I know, "BAD TIMMY"! But I am trying to show restraint.
-
Got to agree w/ Yankee-Tim. Although we'll probably have to wait for the demise of Ralph Nader before we ever see anything resembling a Jimny in the US.
-
If it does 80 in low range, what'll it do in high, 160? Still, all in all looks pretty good, except for the interior trim. without actually touching it it looks like cheap plastic ( on the door panels anyway.)

Yeah, it just doesn't seem like the low range is more than a mere percentage of the regular drive gear. I've got the specs on a CD and will double check when I upload the new information into our Tech Section. The interior is actually quite nice. It is on par with what everyone is doing these days with interiors. It is quiet and feels pretty rich actually. The door panels do seam like they were left out or were not massaged to match the rest of the interior but the doors shut and open really nice and firm.

I like firm.

It has an ugly steering wheel. :P

I for one am pretty excited about this truck. Finally Suzuki has given us something to work with. Whether your a go fast guy or a crawler we finally have a new platform to breath life back into our sport. Finally we have something to build again that does have our beloved S on the front. Sure we all love samurais. I think deep down alot of us have respect for old willys jeeps and toyota landcruisers, nissan patrols etc etc. Fact of the matter is the samurai is old. And I for one am glad we have this pickup. A 6500 lb tow rating is awesome. Now we can have a suzuki truck as a tow rig for our little trail rigs and when the truck has higher mileage we can prerunner them out and go jump dunes with them. Living in so cal we have alot of different options when it comes to wheeling. I personally love it all. I get equally excited blasting up a dune as I do burning all 4 tires up a rock face.

Honestly, I hate Nissans, they really dont do it for me. And neither does this Suzuki knock-off. WTF who are they trying to kid??? What happened to good old Jap built Suzukis??? Although I must admit, it would make a great entry control point on my base over here, cuz like the last humvee that was there, it would get blown up, and I really wouldnt mind that happening to that truck.

"They're" not trying to kid anyone. ASMC is very upfront that this is a joint venture with Nissan. I'm not really following the last part of your paragraph.

Well I'm in Afghanistan, and the front gate to our base got blowed up, due to incoming mortars and rockets, then we decided to use a dead-lined HMMWV as a "front gate" substitute, which also got hit by a v-bied (vehicle borne IED) All I'm saying is Id be more than happy to use one of the new "Suzuki" trucks as a gate truck, and see it get blown up, rather than drive it.

Thanks again,

That gold wheel would be better than the one they put in there. :P Other than that I like the look of the truck.

Yep, the steering wheel sucks. I generally drive with one hand on the wheel, resting at 6 o'clock. If they put a spoke there it really annoys me. I've noticed that they past 3 or 4 years auto manufacturers have been putting 6 o'clock spokes on their steering wheels. And on this truck, the 6 o'clock spoke looks to be about 4 or 5 inches wide. What the hell?
