I have a 1990 suzuki samurai that HAD fuel injection but, the previous owner replaced this with a sammy carb. Can anyone show or tell me where all the vacumm and electrical now go and how to compensate for not having a vacuum advance on the distributor or if it matters. Thanks.

Samurai Hitachi carburetor vacuum hoses:

You said it had fuel injection.. Is the engine a 1.6 16-valve out of a Sidekick or Tracker? did it have the MyFI fuel injection kit from Zuks Offroad? Is the carburetor actually a Hitachi or something else?
It seems puzzling that the distributor does not have a vacuum advance port as your post suggests. This would indicate that the entire head - distributor and all - is a fuel injection head. That would make for a difficult carburetor conversion.
Take some pictures and post them in this thread. They would help us understand the problem a bit better...

Uhhh...1990 Samurai would have had factory EFI, ack. From what I gather, the PO removed the TBI unit from the EFI intake (or replaced the intake as well) and replaced it with a carb.......and that would also explain the lack of a vacuum advance disty (as the EFI one is electronic)......and yes, the head would be a stock FI head (which is the same as a carbed head...just has the fuel pump block off plate on it).
Samurai47, sounds like what you need to do is get a complete carbed intake from a samurai (assuming it still has the EFI intake) and a samurai vacuum advance distributor (1986-1989). Be sure to get one complete with all the sensors and stuff, that way you have a place to hook up all the vacuum lines.

Sky, you are, of course, correct. I though that this was the problem - but wanted to be sure with pics. Me not like assumptions.
Samurai47:
are the pics BMP files or JPG files? If BMPs, load them into windows Paint and and resave them as .JPG files to compress them down.
We love pics! Especially when someone is getting creative! Show us what you have!
