And then can you bolt the drive shafts to it.
Basically are the bolt pattern the same? pre 88.5 samurai
I've heard the 410 t-cases are slightly lower geared.
I did a search didn't turn up what I was looking for.

Depends on year of 410. '85 410 case has the same bolt pattern flange as early Samurai. The earlier you go, the less likely they will match. You do know that these t-cases are divorce mounted, right? They do not bolt directly to the transmission. They have a short jack-shaft in between.
For what it's worth, I'd skip it and get a gear set from one of the aftermarket vendors and put that into your t-case. They are so affordable now, there really isn't any reason to monkey around with half-measures.
Good luck, -Eric

My 84 bolted up fine, and you get a 10% reduction in high and low gears. So basically it matches the 4:1 kits in high range. But most of the T-Cases are not compatible with the after market gear kits.
So if you have one, you might as well use it to bring your 29-30" tires back into stock range. But I would hold onto your old T-Case for future upgrades. Besides, it's nice to have a spare.

I was thinking of using this as a way to get a little bit lower gears in the off road race samurai I'm building.
Since it will pretty much only be run in high gear.
Eric :) I do know that :) Track kicks aren't divorced but the sammies are :P
Course I'm not sure how long I'm going to stick with the little 1.3 anyway.
might swap in the v6 engine transmission and dana 20 t-case and let er fly

Even if it's the really early one you can still use as long as you get the matching flanges as the universal joints are the same size so with a bit of mixing and matching it can be done.
