Post by: bruce5385 on March 17, 2008, 05:52:17 PM
maybe someone can help me i have the 5 inch calmini spring under lift and i made it a spring over.  i purchased the missing link shackles to get more flex and they wont work on the front because of the calmini brackets.  can i put them on the back side of the front leefspring and it still work the same as putting them on the front.

You want to put the missing links onto a shackle reversal set up?

M/Ls on a S/R can be done, but not from off the shelf stuff.  Years ago, Canyon sumthin'or'nother has a set up like this.  2 issues with it.  One, without a panhard, steering is impossible in the rocks.  Two, horrible pinion angles.  As the M/L opens, the pinion head points to the sky, making bad steering and u-joint explosion possible.

a missing link with a shackle reversal the front pinion would point to the ground.

I said pinion head, not  flange end.  :P

So we're both right. ;)
