There is a guy nearby who has a '96 tracker 4-door and claims that it has a 1.8L engine who is having engine trouble and wants it fixed.
My research so far does not indicate that there was a Tracker version of the Sidekick Sport in '96 (if ever).
Was there one? ??? ???
Cordially.

No such thing as a Chevy 1.8L Tracker.

There were Sports made in 96-98, all were DOHC.
Why does he think it has the 1.8L in it? He should be able to look at the sticker under the hood (the one that lists the valve specs, timing, etc), it will say whether it is a 1.6 or 1.8.

I dunno. He's my son's boss and apparently when it comes to cars he's as dumb as a box of rocks. I offered to check out his timing problems. He keeps telling me it's a '96 Tracker 4-door with a 1.8L engine. I guess I will find out when I go over there and look at it.

Hell, in that case, I'm surprised he can even find the engine.
Could be a sidekick too....some people aren't even smart enough to read the side of the vehicle.....I am not kidding. :o
