This started off the be a K.I.S.S. project (keep it simple stupid) but...... things went a little over board. Run down of parts. Sammy frame, sky's wrangler swap, SPRING UNDER, toy axles, rear e-locker front lock right, 4.10 gears, 6.4:1 t-case 34x10.5x15 LTB swampers, toy high steer, rebuilt front axle with longfields, TLC vented rotors,v6 calipers, gusseted front housing. 99 Tracker 16 valve motor with 2wd tranny. Flexed pic has 21" under tire before lifting the other front tire rear was not even close to coming up yet. Building this to drive to the local trails instead of trailering, (that gets old) Hope to have the drivetrain in in the next cuople weeks. Then the body. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE LAUGH THEIR ASS OFF AND TELL ME I WAS CRAZY FOR PULLING THE BODY FOR A MAJOR PROJECT.SILLY THEM!IT MAKES THE JOB A LOT EASIER,ESPECIALLY SUSPENSION WORK,AND LETS YOU SEE EVERYTHING PERFECTLY WHILE DOING THE KOB.LOOKS GOOD,AND ONE DAY MABEY I WILL HOOK MY SIDEKICK UP LIKE THAT.LOVE THE YOTA SWAPS.
-
Mine was already apart when I started, which made it easier
-
IT CERTAINLY DOES MAKE THINGS EASIER WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY APART.I CURRENTLY HAVE MY 911 IN MORE PIECES THAN PORSCHE EVER INTENDED.

Ya I was cracking up after I posted the pic and wondered if anybody else would notice, LOL
-
i agree.estimate night be a little steep!how much body lift are you gonna use?
-
Probably just a one inch to help clear the motor, everthing else will be cut to fit
-
Man this project is taking forever ::) but it RUNS!!!! I was also able to use the gas tank out of the 99 tracker (http://i14.tinypic.com/6fyt3l4.jpg)(http://i3.tinypic.com/66ndks7.jpg) Looks like I will have more clearance between the tank and the axle also. And the nice thing is is it has ALL of the right wire harness plugs.
-
Nice job. Keep up the pics. 8)

I keep trying to get my neighbor to roll his 99 tracker so I can get me one of those crummy engines for mine. can you slide a piece of pipe into the rear of the frame or is the tank going to be too close?

Underside of fenders. I used solid round stock to fill the gaps, so even if I do rub it will not tear any thing up.(http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd16/Ddog87_2007/SAMMY008.jpg)

Good luck on the sand blasting if you take it to a place to be blasted, the metal on a sammie is too thin for it, you could do it yourself and it would not be so wavey on the flats when you get done.
-
What ever happened to this project? it looked like it was going to be a really good zuk>
would be interesting to find out if it was finnished and what it looks like now
-
Especially since the pics don't show now!
